Install TiviMate on Android TV
TiviMate’s official site describes it as a media player for your own playlists and says it is intended for Android TV rather than optimized for phones and tablets. Install it through the provider’s current official distribution for your device. TiviMate features and labels can change, so use the official site if the app build you have does not match the path below.
After launching the app, the usual current path is Home > Settings > Playlists > Add playlist. On some first-run builds, Add playlist appears directly on the home screen. Choose M3U playlist when your source gives you a URL or a local file. If the source instead provides an Xtream login, use the Xtream Codes/API option when it is offered by your build and enter the server URL, username, and password in their separate fields.
- Keep the server URL separate from the username and password.
- Use HTTPS when the source provider supplies an HTTPS address.
- Give each playlist a clear name if you plan to add more than one.
Add an EPG or XMLTV guide URL
For a playlist-specific guide, the usual path is Home > Settings > Playlists > choose the playlist > EPG sources > Add source. Paste the XMLTV URL supplied by the same source provider, save it, and then return to the playlist’s EPG settings to select or refresh that source. TiviMate’s public website does not publish a stable click-by-click EPG manual, so if your current build uses Settings > EPG or a different label, check the provider’s current documentation.
After adding the URL, open Settings > EPG and use the refresh or update action if available. A guide only maps correctly when the playlist’s tvg-id or channel name matches the XMLTV channel ID or display name. If your source gave no XMLTV URL, do not paste a random guide into the playlist; ask that source for its current guide instructions. iPTiVi’s account guide is separate from TiviMate’s local EPG import.
Organize playlists and test playback
Open the playlist after the import completes and confirm that groups, channel names, and logos look reasonable. Test a known-good channel before troubleshooting the whole playlist. TiviMate can manage multiple playlists, so keep a source’s playlist separate rather than combining unrelated URLs until each one works. If you edit a URL or credential, save the change and run a fresh playlist update.
TiviMate’s own playback, favorites, catch-up, recording, and multi-playlist behavior depends on the app version, device, and source. iPTiVi does not control those features. For account-scoped organization and the guide data available to your iPTiVi account, use the iPTiVi web experience separately from the player.
Troubleshooting
Playlist will not load
Confirm the playlist type, remove accidental spaces, test the URL in a browser or another approved player, and check whether the source requires a current username or password. If the provider changed its format, check its docs.
EPG is not showing
Refresh the EPG, verify the XMLTV URL returns XML, and compare playlist tvg-id values with XMLTV channel IDs. Re-check the playlist’s selected EPG source after an update.
Channels buffer
Test several channels, restart the Android TV device, use a stable network connection, and ask the source provider whether the stream is currently available. Player buffer settings cannot fix an offline source.
Guide time zone is wrong
Check Android TV’s time zone and TiviMate’s EPG offset or time-shift settings. Do not apply a large offset until you confirm the source timestamps and your device clock.
